An unknown bandit held up President of the Gold Star Mothers of LA Elizabeth Harrison on her way to her car after she finished her lunch at Scully's Café, where he had been watching her. He had left a ten cent tip for his waitress, Neftal Pratt. Photograph appears with the article, "Café Gunman Dines and Robs," Los Angeles Times, 04 Jan 1939: 12. The man and woman pose for the camera - Detective Lieutenant Landers takes notes on a pad while looking at Neftal Pratt, wearing her waitressing uniform and balancing a glass of water in one hand.
