The empty room has no windows and shows seats and dividers made of wood.
Photograph appears with the headline, "Postoffice Section of New Federal Building to Be Opened January 23," Los Angeles Times, 10 Jan 1939: 20.
Postmaster Mary Briggs, custodian of new Federal Building, yesterday announced that postoffice section of structure will open Jan. 23. Other sections of building, including courtrooms, offices of United States Attorney and Marshal, will be in use in six or seven weeks.
