Photograph appears with the article, "Lens Art Goes on Exhibition," Los Angeles Times, 18 Jan 1939: A1. 360 prints, chosen from a total of 1500 entries, are on display at the Los Angeles Museum in the international photographic exhibit. They demonstrate outstanding works of photographers sponsored by the Camera Pictorialists of Los Angeles. The photograph of the wheel shows a large decayed wheel stuck partially in the mud. Another broken wheel can be seen partially buried in the mud behind it. The bottom of the photograph is written, Forgotten Wheels By Tom Imler, Jr. Text from newspaper caption: This picture of half-mired decaying wheels tells a story of frontier desolation. Its creator, Tom Imler Jr., has given it the title of "Forgotten Wheels."
