The camera looks down from the Rose Bowl Stadium's stands and towards the football field during the 1934 game between Stanford and Columbia. The play on the ball occurs just above the bottom edge at center. Two Columbia Lions attempt to tackle the Stanford ball carrier as he runs up the sideline and towards the 40-yard-line. Referees rush towards the play from all directions. Other players stand clustered together in the backfield at left. In the background, spectators fill the stands.
