A similar photograph of Stanford football players posing during practice is titled, "Stanford Reds Return for Another Shot at Rose Bowl Laurels," and is captioned, "Still chattering to themselves over their defeat at the hands of Columbia almost a year ago, Stanford's footballers invaded the Arroyo Seco again yesterday afternoon and went through a snappy practice for their battle against Alabama next Tuesday. From left to right the linemen are Keith Topping, Ed Lettunich, Bob Reynolds, Larry Rouble, Wes Muller, Woody Adams and Monk Moscrip. The backs are Bones Hamilton, Frank Alustiza, Bobby Grayson and Buck Van Dellen. Claude Callaway, regular tackle, missed practice because of his mother's illness. Lettunich taking his place.
