The channel enters frame from the right half of the bottom edge and stretches back towards the left. On the far side of the channel, 2 Navy passenger transport ships are moored. Nearest to camera at right is the U.S.S. Henderson. It is viewed from its stern and port side. Across the back of the stern, it reads, "HENDERSON." At center and in front of the U.S.S. Henderson sits the U.S.S. Chaumont. It too is viewed from its stern and port side. Dark smoke billows from its funnel. To the left of it, harbor structures line the far side of the channel.
