The oil tanker Montebello sails through a harbor (presumably, Los Angeles Harbor). It sits in the near distance, off-center to the left and is viewed from its starboard side. At right, a rope extends from the nose of the ship and out of frame. Three masts and a funnel rise from the ship's deck. Between the rightmost masts, the ship's bridge sits atop the deck. The harbor stretches across the background.
