He holds a stubby pencil in his right hand and rests his left hand in his lap. He is in a wood paneled office. A typewriter sits to the right of his desk, behind him. Hayden wears a three piece suit and round glasses.
This photograph appears in a cropped version in Charles F. Hayden's obituary: "Death Claims Charles Hayden," Los Angeles Times, 18 Sep 1943: 6.
