Like many Vietnamese and American people touched by the war, Le Ly Hayslip has chosen to return to Vietnam with projects and money for reconstruction, family assistance, and health support. Director Oliver Stone’s 1993 film, Heaven and Earth, is based upon Hayslip’s memoirs, When Heaven and Earth Changed Places and Child of War, Woman of Peace.
