Description
Albumen print adhered to an ambrotype plate. This backing plate bears a portrait of an unidentified bearded man, visible when transilluminated. Ambrotype is probably of a slightly earlier date. Bust length portrait of Burnett, first constitutional Governor of California, serving from December 20, 1849 to January 9, 1851.
