Description
Although impossible to prove, the ring pictured may be a daguerreotype portrait ring taken by Vallejo's daughter Epifania Vallejo. A portrait of M.G. Vallejo wearing such a ring is said to be in the possession of a descendant. (cf. Palmquist, Peter E. and Kailbourn, Thomas R. Pioneer photographers of the far west. Stanford Univ. Press, c2000, p. 558.)
Half length portrait of a man with a beard, seated with his arm resting on a table. He is wearing a large ring and a watch chain.
