Description
A bearded man believed to be Galen Clark stands at the foot of the giant sequoia, holding a rifle and a bunch of seed cones. It also has been suggested that this figure is Milton Mann, co-discoverer (with Clark) of the Mariposa Grove. Similarly posed views known to be of Clark were taken by Watkins some years later, probably during his 1865-66 Yosemite work.
Dome topped print.
