Description
A black-and-white photograph captures a group of people in traditional Japanese attire performing on a stage. In the foreground, five women in various poses wear patterned kimonos hold flowering branches: three are standing and two are kneeling. Behind the dancers are other performers holding instruments, including a person in the background holding a traditional stringed instrument, possibly a shamisen. The stage is decorated with a bold cloth border hanging from a line or rope suspended across the room. Several light fixtures with bar bulbs on the ceiling are visible. Below the photograph, a physical color calibration strip and a grayscale step wedge are visible, used for archival imaging. The entire scene is set within a white border, typical of a printed photograph.
