Description
Offset Galas: Secretaria de gobernacion
Part of: Mexican war posters from the Second World War era
This vertical propaganda poster features a central illustration of a young man with dark, wavy hair and a light blue collared shirt with rolled-up sleeves. He is shown from the waist up, holding a wooden pole that supports a large Mexican flag—a tricolor of green, white, and red with a central eagle emblem—which billows behind him against a sky of grey and white clouds. In the distant background behind the man's right arm, two dark silhouettes of ships are visible on a body of water. Across the lower half of the poster, the Spanish text "EL GRITO DE GUERRA" is written in large, three-dimensional yellow block letters with red outlines, tilted at an upward angle. Small, faint text that reads "SECRETARIA DE GOBERNACION" is visible at the very bottom edge of the image, and a vertical color calibration strip is positioned along the right side of the poster's border.
