Description
Roughly 114 degrees 03' 28"". Title devised. Library of Congress copy annotated: "Rocky Mountains looking west from boundary cairn, July 1861." Location identified using maps and Google Earth views. View of a ridge and Gardner Point in what is now northern Montana, with Upper Kintla Lake in the right distance. Akamina Ridge (Alberta, Canada) would be just to the right, out of field. Kinnerly Peak is a faint outline on the horizon, just left of center. The visible ridge, ending in Gardner Point, is in front of Kinnerly Peak. This view forms an approximate two-part panorama when paired with item 30 of this collection.
