Description
Identification based on Library of Congress copy, which is on same mount as the portrait of Chief Garry (Bancroft Library item 40). The LoC mount with the two photographs is captioned "Garry the Spokan chief [and] three of his men." Three Native American men posed seated at door of a cabin of planks or squared logs, with rifles and other weapons, in traditional clothing. Possibly photographed at the British survey team's winter quarters near Fort Colville, or at the Hudson's Bay Company post.
