Description
Part of: Governor's Commission on the Los Angeles Riots records Part of survey of area by a joint force of Los Angeles Police Department and guardsmen of 40th Armed Division. This black-and-white horizontal photograph captures a street-level view of several uniformed men gathered in front of a damaged storefront. Five men in dark uniforms and helmets stand on the sidewalk; two are positioned near the center holding pistols, while three others with shotguns stand to the sides. Inside the storefront can be seen a sixth helmeted officer. The building features large, dark-framed windows, most of which are shattered or missing.
