Description
Warehouse: Prisoners organizes all-night vigils to stop Caucasian employees from stealing and profiteering on food intended for prisoners. The camp director prohibited such vigils and solders with fixed bayonets forcibly removed prisoners from the warehouse area. A protest strike by prisoners working at the Warehouse and camp farms resulted in the dismissal of the Caucasian employee who was responsible for food distribution. In another incident an estimated 10,000 prison demonstrators surrounded the administration building to protest worker hazards, low pay, and racist doctors.
