Description
Scope/Content: An oral history with Moein Hosseini, who was born in Mashhad, Iran. He is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Civil Engineering at Northwestern University Transportation Center. During this interview, Moein delves into how the ocean and large bodies of water stand apart from other elements of nature because of all the memories he associates with them. The ocean was a source of comfort for him during his immigration journey. He describes how it was incredibly difficult being far away from his family when immigrating from Iran to pursue his educational goals, but the ocean essentially became another family member to him.
