Scope/Content: Leidi Mejia has two daughters. The older one was born in Guatemala in the last 1970s. She is now married and lives with her husband and three children in a nearby Orange County city. Monica, Leidi's younger daughter, was born in California in 1994. Leidi and Monica share an apartment with Leidi's nephew, Gabriel Ramirez. Leidi's sister, who lives about two blocks away, is also a housecleaner. She tells her story in a later chapter. Leidi and Esperanza have a brother, who lives and works in Southern California, and five sisters. Four live in Guatemala, one in the United States.
