Description
Scope/Content: Kong Kora was born in a small farming village before moving to Vientiane at a young age in order to attend school and eventually the police academy. He worked his way up to the ranks until he became the chief of police. When the Communists invaded Laos, he escaped to a refugee camp in Thailand where he met with his family and was sponsored by a church in Kansas to come to America. In Kansas, Kong attended college and worked many jobs. He eventually saved up enough money to create his own Laotian grocery store where he was able to create his own Lao community within the small town.
