Description
Scope/Content: An oral history with Mr. An Do, born in 1963 in Saigon, Vietnam. He was only 12 years old when the South Vietnam collapsed, but he was able to get into the U.S. Embassy to evacuate. He discussed his memories of how he got to America and how he ended up at Fort Chaffee, Arkansas. Mr. Do came to America at a young age, so he had a lot of opportunities. He and his father were the only ones who made it and were sponsored by a family in Chicago, Illinois. Mr. Do discussed his life in America and how he was not able to contact his family in Vietnam for more than 10 years. He received his Masters degree and became an engineer. He currently works for CalTrans. He is married with two children and lives in Cerritos, California.
