Description
Scope/Content: Original file location on Richard Rorty's disk: MS-C017-FD021/MCD5||File transferred from Richard Rorty's original floppy disk and converted to PDF for access. Scope/Content: Included in this sub-collection are born digital drafts of Richard Rorty's writings, created between 1988 and 2003. Writings include essays and articles for scholarly journals and magazines; book chapters; book reviews; conference papers; lectures, speeches and remarks. Some files contain related correspondence. Notes taken in preparation for writing are also included. The titles supplied during processing are generally working titles and may differ from the title given to the published work, although some of the writings have never been published. Many files have been supplied with identical titles. This is a result of Rorty having made repeated backups and thereby saving many drafts of his work. Researchers should be aware that files have been electronically de-duplicated; therefore, files with similar titles and dates and that seem to be identical do have, at minimum, slight modifications.
