Description
Scope/Content: A memorial to Dr. Thomas Burbridge as one of the first Black faculty (researcher/scientist) hired at the University of California, San Francisco. His photo is on the back cover of the October 1972 edition of the Black Bulletin, a newsletter created by UCSF's Black Caucus. Burbridge earned his PhD in Pharmacology from UCSF and joined the faculty of the School of Medicine in 1956. He was active in a number of social justice and civil rights projects throughout his life.
