Annotations/Markings: Inscribed "近日官租重民家牛不/肥牧童思軟草_欲/別村之" "These days the official tax is heavey and men and oxen don't get fat. The herd boy laments and wants to drag the ox to another village." (trans. Yoshi Shimizu) Signed "漁庵題" (Ryōan daisu) with seal at upper left corner.
