[Written on photograph] 316 [Written on envelope] Earth fill dam with vegetative cover. This dam will catch considerable portion of the sand that has been carried on to fertile fields above. A better vegetative cover is being established on the hills above the dam to cut down the runoff and help stop washing. Concrete check dams are used below to prevent the barranca from cutting deeper.
