[Written on envelope] Bean Land--Cover Crop Test Plot. March 31, 1938. Edward's big field--Santa Paula. Demonstrated a cover crop which was improperly turned under. Growth was so heavy as to prevent satisfactory turning under by discing. Should have been plowed. [Negative digitized]
