[Written on photograph] Walnut tree decline - taken of budded walnut orchard on Yolo loam soil in Ventura County - showing relation of over-irrigation and rootstocks to decline. Showing first indications of root rot disease. Note sparse foliage compared with normal tree, and beginning of die-backs in tops. An exam. of root system would show disease on feeder roots and moderate attack on main roos. (This tree has much fewer nuts than normal tree). [Negative digitized]
