Description: Scope/Content: Abstract: En nuestro país existe una antigua tradición de edificación de presas que se remonta a la época romana y árabe. Esta construcción se incrementó rápidamente a partir de 1950, con un total de 581 presas construidas en 30 años (un promedio de casi 20 por año), y aunque el nivel de contratación de diques ha disminuido notablemente desde 1995, España sigue siendo el país con más grandes presas per cápita en el mundo (García de Jalón, 2003).
