Description
Scope/Content: Donald H. Biery standing on campus. Caption reads: Donald H. Biery. 1932-1947. Donald H. Biery became superintendent of Sherman in April 1932. Mr. Biery was a strong advocate of a practical education for Indians; and under his administration the vocational program was expanded, producing skilled tradesmen from students attending. In 1947, Mr. Biery resigned as superintendent, to assume a position working among the natives of Peru. Upon retirement from government service, the Bierys took up residence in Riverside, California.
