Description
Scope/Content: Abstract: FERC issued docket number p-2082:On the morning of December 2, 2005 a rockslide damaged the JC Boyle canal on the Klamath Hydroelectric Project. The rockslide originated outside the project boundary above the upper canal road and appears to be the result of heavy preciitation and freeze-and-thaw conditions in the region. Some debris came to rest on the road, blocking it to vehicular travel. Additional debris and a rock approximately 10 x 15 x 14 feet continued down the hillside and penetrated the wall of the canal, creating a hole measuring approximately 7.5 x 8.5 feet. Water flowing from the hole in the canal wall eroded the lower canal road and supporting fill.
