Description: Scope/Content: Abstract: The purpose of the action is to improve fish passage while maintaining a water diversion for the Grants Pass Irrigation District. These actions were previously evaluated in a 1995 planning report/final environmental statement (PR/FES) prepared by the Bureau of Reclamation. However, a revised Preferred Alternative is presented in the current EA. The revised alternative differs from the original in that a portion of the existing dam structures would be left in place; a single, large pumping plant would be constructed on the left (south) side of the river; and a pipe bridge would be constructed to convey water to the right (north) side of the river. Because of the changes to the original Preferred Alternative, Reclamation has prepared this Environmental Assessment (EA) to determine of the proposed changes associated with the revised alternative, or changes in the affected environment that have occurred since 1995, would result in significant impacts not previously addressed.
