Description
Scope/Content: Abstract: Marmot Dam was removed in the summer of 2007, and the cofferdam diverting flow around the construction area was breached on 19 October 2007, allowing the sediment stored within the dam's impoundment to be eroded and transported downstream. Prior to dam removal, Portland General Electric (PGE) established four monitoring sites for collecting pre-removal cross-section and topographic data in the summers of 2005, 2006, and 2007 (Stillwater Sciences 2008). In the summers of 2008, 2009, and 2010, PGE collected post-removal cross-section and topographic data, which were subsequently analyzed and reported by Stillwater Sciences (2009, 2010, 2011). In the summer of 2011, PGE collected a fourth set of post-removal topographic data. This technical memorandum summarizes all the data sets collected to date and analyzes channel complexity indices. Scope/Content: Dam type: concrete Scope/Content: Date constructed: 1913. Date removed: 2007.
