Description
Scope/Content: Abstract: Background: -The Brown Bridge Dam is scheduled to be removed in the summer of 2012. However, no data had been recorded as to how the dam has affected the river's biotic community. Question: -How do macroinvertebrate assemblages below the dam differ from those above the dam? Methodology: -Two riffle sites above the dam and one below were sampled and the invertebrates present were identified and quantitatively compared. Conclusions: -There was a high degree of differentiation between the sites above and below the dam, with the locality below showing higher species richness and higher individual count.
