Description: Scope/Content: Abstract: Constructed as a mill dam in the 1970s, the Reedsville Milling Company Dam was 14 feet high and 47 feet long. It had a timber crib and a body of rock and concrete and had been reinforced and updated several times. The primary objective of the removal was to restore the ecological health of the stream by stabilizing the stream channel. This dam had already been drawn down under an emergency permit. The impoundment had significant sedimentation, and the project required extensive stream restoration. The dam removal was completed in October 2004.
