Description
Scope/Content: Abstract: FERC issued docket number p-2381: During the daily project inspection on March 18, 2007, the Ashton Operator noted the appearance of a second sinkhole in very close proximity to the sinkhole reported to your office in December 2004. The new sinkhole is located higher on the embankment than the 2004 sinkhole, and is approximately five inches in diameter and two feet deep. It was not present at the time of the previous day's inspection. The operator immediately initiated the notification process outlined in PacifiCorp Energy's Ashton Dam Emergency Response for Sinkhole and Piping Activity. No other changes in the dam's condition were revealed. Further detail regarding the events surrounding this March 18, 2007 sinkhole event are presented in our incident report dated April 16, 2007
