Description
Scope/Content: Diary of George Fujimoto, Jr., a young Japanese American man from Riverside, California, with daily entries for most days in 1943. From January to June 1943, Fujimoto records his experiences incarcerated in Poston, in southwestern Arizona. In June, Fujimoto left the camp to work in Des Moines, Iowa under the War Relocation Authority resettlement program, along with his sister and brother-in-law. Covers journey by car from Poston to Des Moines, and life in Des Moines, where Fujimoto worked developing film in a photography studio. Entries begin on page 21.
