Description: Scope/Content: Abstract: FERC issued docket number p-696: We appreciate the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission's (FERC) willingness to analyze PacifCorp's proposal for surrender of its license and implementation of the terms of the Settlement Agreement Concerning the Decommissioning of the American Fork Hydroelectric Project (Agreement) signed February 6, 2003. The details of the Agreement and the appended Removal Plan are the result of a dedicated and collaborative process of all parties involved over nearly six years time. The Department finds the Agreement to be an exemplary result of a cooperative effort intended to benefit the natural and cultural resources of American Fork Canyon, the 1.2 million visitors who enjoy the area annually, and the business interests of the applicant. As a signatory to the Agreement, the Department supports its full implementation.
