Description: Scope/Content: Abstract: FERC issued docket number p-2381: Attached is the annual monitoring report for the Ashton Dam, located on the Henry's Fork of the Snake River in Idaho. This report includes open stand pipe piczometer levels, tailrace and reservoir water surface elevations for the years 1996 through 2006, and results from the monument instrumentation surveys. The evaluation of the project inspections and monitoring data conducted by our Operations and Engineering staff during 2006 did not identify any significant changes to the condition of the dam during 2006. While the vertical movement data indicates the settlement of the concrete cap has not progressed since the reduction of the normal operating elevation of Ashton reservoir was implemented in December of 2004, monuments DCM3R and DCM4R located in the embankment fill material, beneath the concrete crest slab, continue to indicate a steady rate of settlement. There continues m be no indication of any significant horizontal movement in the upstream, downstream or lateral directions over the 1996 to 2006 period, and the open standpipe piezometer data indicates the water elevation within the embankment remained relatively constant.
