Description
Scope/Content: Abstract: FERC issued docket number p-2979, p-2978, 2980 On October 25, 2005, Traverse City Light and Power (licensee/exemptee) filed an application to surrender the licensed Brown Bridge Project (FERC No. 2978) and the exempted Boardman Dam (FERC No. 2979) and Sabin Dam (FERC No. 2980) Projects. The projects are located on the Boardman River, near Traverse City, Grand Traverse County, Michigan. The projects do not occupy any Federal lands. The licensee/exemptee requests that the Commission grant the surrenders because it is no longer economically feasible to operate the projects. Further, the licensee/exemptee has no desire to generate any hydroelectric power either for its own or any one else's consumption. As part of the licensee/exemptee's application, the licensee/exemptee proposes to remove the generating equipment, transfer the properties to Traverse County and Traverse City, while leaving the dams in place.
