Scope/Content: Abstract: The Sedimentation and River Hydraulics Group of the Denver Technical Service Center US Bureau of Reclamation was requested by the Los Angeles District of the Army Corp of Engineers to complete a hydrology, hydraulics, and sedimentation study to support the design of two shallow groundwater wells located adjacent to the Ventura River, Ventura, CA. The wells are being constructed as part of the Matilija Dam Ecosystem Restoration Project to replace two existing surface water diversions for the City of Ventura. The report gives the hydraulic conditions in the vicinity of the well and the water surface elevations for given flood events. Future trends in bed elevations and flood water surface elevations are also discussed. The report also contains information necessary to design rock protection for the wells.
