Description: Scope/Content: Diary of George Fujimoto, Jr., a young Japanese American man from Riverside, California. Daily entries begin on March 11, 1942 (page 90), the date on which Fujimoto's father, Toranosuke "George" Fujimoto Sr., was taken into custody by federal officials. Entries from March to May cover life in Riverside after his father's incarceration, and as forced removal of Japanese Americans from the West Coast began to ramp up. On May 23, Fujimoto Jr. and other family members were taken to be incarcerated at Poston, in southwestern Arizona, and entries from May to December cover life in Poston.
