Description
Scope/Content: Abstract: FERC issued docket number p-2602: The Watershed Association of the Tuckasegee River would like to apply for intervener status in the relicensing proceedings for the Dillsboro Project, Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) project number 2602. We have several particular concerns about the way the river and the watershed would be impacted by the agreement negotiated to mitigate the impacts of the Dillsboro Project and Duke Power's other dams. These are based on our participation on the two and one-half year "Tuckasegee Cooperative Stakeholder" process. While we support many of the particular clauses that were arrived at as a result of the Stakeholder meetings, some of our major concerns were not met in the negotiations, so we did not sign the final Stakeholders' agreement.
