Scope/Content: Unique book
Scope/Content: Consists chiefly of rubbings made with "wax crayon and graphite on pages of handmade Japanese kozo paper ... The covers are traditional handmade Nagabanshi kozo naturally dyed with persimmon and walnut juice. The rubbings are from the Einstein Memorial in Washington D.C., the Chandi and Labor History memorial plaques in Union Square, New York City, architectural plaques throughout NYC, the Confucius Memorial in Chinatown, NYC, and the Foley Square NYC history plaques in NYC ... This book was made over the course of four months from November 2006 through February 2007"--Artist's description.
Technique: Bound in "a hand sewn semi-exposed pamphlet stitch, designed and bound by Veronika Schäpers in Tokyo, Japan using Asaito thread"--Artist's description.
