"It is not necessary to dwell upon the beautiful building, its spacious interiors and interesting motifs--an inspection will reveal their merits," reads a brochure for the Pasadena Athletic Club, located on the northwest corner of Green Street and Los Robles Avenue. Some of its offerings included volleyball, swimming, squash, and a tap room. Men were invited to regular "smokers" designed to "afford an evening of relaxation for the masculine element."
