Photograph of exterior view of California State Normal School, Grand Avenue and 5th Street, Los Angeles, ca.1900. The expansive three-story building can be seen at center. A clock tower can be seen towards the left, while a second tower can be seen at right. Arched windows or openings can be seen throughout the building. Trees are visible in front of the building along the street, while smaller buildings can be seen at right. A sign reading "State Normal School" is visible on the clock tower. The building opened in 1881 and was removed in 1922. It was later the site of the city library.
