The flooded L.A. River after passing the Cerritos Bridge, showing the break in the levee that was erected by Long Beach to confine the river to its old channel. The water is passing over the broken levee, cutting across the land of Dominiguez Ranch into Dominguez Creek where it is rapidly eroding a new channel. Photograph dated Jan. 18, 1916.
