Paul De Longpre was born in Lyons, France in 1855. Came to the United States in 1890, settling in New York. Moved to Los Angeles in 1899, began building the home on Prospect Ave. in 1900. He was watercolor, still-life painter, specializing in flowers. Died in 1911 in Hollywood.
