Description
The one-&-only Ryan M-3C, built for Wilson Aero to Howard Hughes' purchase order (a H.R.H. pilot had wrecked one of the Wilson planes performing a buzz job). The M-3C was actually a standard M-2 mail plane fuselage wedded to a duplicate of Lindbergh's 4 ft wing. It served as a studio hack as "The Spirit of Universal Studios". On this occasion it had been sent to fetch Mary Philbin for the grand opening of Grand Central.
