The surveyor is wearing tall boots, long pants, a long-sleeved shirt, and a broad-brimmed hat. He is holding his arm horizontally at left. The theodolite is mounted on a wooden tripod at center. The surveyor is standing on a grassy patch of land, and several large buildings can be seen in the background.
